In August, MYPOL hosted virtual workshops with Hluttaw staff to address COVID concerns and challenges. The discussion centred on how COVID-19 has affected the work of other Parliaments – specifically those in Southeast Asia – and the different approaches other countries have taken.

More than 20 Hluttaw staff were in attendance. Each was eager to learn about these other examples and curious about how these lessons could be applied in Myanmar.

MYPOL’s Key Expert for Parliament, along with the project’s National Technical Advisor and other international experts, helped guide the discussion and provide insights into how the Hluttaw could address the needs of the Myanmar people.

As the COVID-19 crisis continues, MYPOL will continue working with its partners to meet the challenges presented by the pandemic.
